The
Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is located at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in Chapel Hill,
North Carolina. We are on the 10th floor of the Brinkhous-Bullitt
Preclinical Educational Building, which is the tall beige-colored
building directly behind UNC Hospitals and the Health Sciences Library.
Parking
Parking is available in the UNC Hospitals Dogwood parking deck, located on Manning Drive across the street from the hospital main entrance. Although we are located behind the main hospital, enter through the front doors of the main hospital, follow the signs to the Beach Cafe and take the elevator to the tenth floor. (The Beach Cafe is located on the 2nd floor of the Brinkhous-Bullitt Building, and we are on the 10th floor.) Maps are available at the information desk just inside the main hospital entrance.

from Raleigh and points east
From westbound Interstate 40 take exit number 273A to westbound Highway NC 54. Immediately past the US 15-501 overpass, turn right onto southbound US 15-501/westbound NC 54 in the direction of Carrboro. Turn right onto Manning Drive in the direction of UNC Hospitals. Turn left on West Drive to park in the hospital visitors parking deck (Dogwood Deck).

from Burlington and points west
From eastbound Interstate 40 take exit number 270 to southbound US 15-501. After driving past most of Chapel Hill, turn right onto Manning Drive in the direction of UNC Hospitals. Turn left on West Drive to park in the hospital visitors parking deck (Dogwood Deck).

from Pittsboro and points south
From northbound US 15-501 proceed straight into Chapel Hill after crossing the overpass (do not turn on to the US 15-501 Bypass). Turn right onto Manning Drive in the direction of UNC Hospitals. Turn right on West Drive to park in the hospital visitors parking deck (Dogwood Deck).
Members
of the Press with camera or video equipment must call in
advance and report to UNC Hospitals Department of Public Safety
to the escorted through the hospital to our offices. We request
you provide us with as much advance notice as possible so that we
may facilitate your escort through UNC Hospitals Public Affairs.
Deliveries
should be brought to the loading dock, located at the end of North
Medical Drive just off Columbia Street.
